After debating the upgrade for almost a year, I finally decided to give it a try. I replaced the pre-amps two NE5534A op-amp chips with a pair of Burson Supreme op-amps. From pulling my pre-amp from the rack to listening to music again took less than an hour. I was delighted when I turned it on and it worked without a hitch. The Burson Supreme op-amp has added tons of low end and has a nice smooth tone across the entire frequency range.
I defy anyone to find an upgrade this effective for this good a value.
Thanks again Burson, totally worth it.

Hello,
I have made this mod as well.
It was my 4th mod of that preamp.
1st andy groove mod,
2nd – better capacitors (mundorf supreme)
3rd – resistors to have better gain.
The mod is worth money spent but I am wondering that maybe replacing input opamps could provide such a improvement like it was by replacing output opamps.
Anyone tried?
Arek
Yes, to get the best output it is recommended to have the full set of opamp modded. If you needed additional assistance please feel free to contact us.
Hi there,
so if I want to mod this Rotel RQ-970BX – full set of opamp change – which Burson products exactly do I need to buy and how many pieces?
Thank you for your time.
In the photo is one pair of the single opamp. To do the full mod you will need two pair of single opamp. They can be V5i or V5 or V6 Vivid.
Can you still close the lid with the Bursons fitted?
