I am using the new Burson dual op-amp in my modified. It replaces a DEXA dual op-amp which replaced an LM4562 which replaced the stock NE5532. The Burson Supreme op-amps offers better tonal balance and tonal detail, the DEXA being a little more open and extended in the bass. The Burson also seems more rhythmic. Both discrete opamps easily outclass monolithic opamps.
The Onkyo has numerous mods to it including rectifiers,. power supply caps, signal path caps and Takman resistors. Though the original is good, the amp is now in an entirely different class. In fact, I now prefer it to my vacuum tube separates.

Hello,
Got same Onkyo A-9555 and bought Burson V1 and have problem, sound is perfect clear but when op-amp works few minutes, it become a little hot not very hot just hot and after few minutes starting to hear strange noise like old AM Radio…
Now i bought brand new V5 Op-amp (red one) from E-bay and have same problem. After only 15-20 seconds strange noise start again. I check voltage on V-in pin and it`s 13.9V Should i solder some resistor to one more adapter to reduce input voltage to 12V since 15V is MAX in PDF data sheet.
p.s. I have NE5532, LME49729NA, LM4562NE, MUSES01,MUSES02 OPA627 dual. And no one have that noise and they are not hot at all.
Can someone help me? Please
