The Burson Audio HA-160D has been an excellent addition to my studio. Along with my Sennheiser HD 800, I use the AKG 701, the Sennheiser HD 650 and other headphones for comparison sake. Also the Accoustic Research speakers are used before I burn a CD master of the concert.
The HA-160D adds resolution to even the most inexpensive headphones. The low bass of classical music is found in the low strings, piano, organ and drums. The HA-160D shines in the low register below 40 hz, not heavy, just well defined. In the upper register, tight rendering of the flute, high strings, cymbals, etc. generates a sound scape that is real and multi-layered. The HA-160D enhances the already wonderful sound stage of the AKG 701 and the supper rendering of the Sennheiser HD800.
