98% of all components vary from their stated specifications within the initial 50 hours of use. We put together each Burson creation with the best matched parts, and test each of them, but nothing can replace the burn-in as the ultimate quality control process. Burn-in effectively screens out any preternatural quality issues with the product. We will re-tune each stage of the circuit again, to within 1% of our bench mark setting, after the burn-in.
The same procedure is carried out on all complete Burson products. Not only does it ensure the fault rate of our products remain well below 0.5%, but it also ensures the perfect match between the two channels. This procedure is extremely critical to the reproduction of sound stage and positioning.
Certainly it costs us 150 hours more of man power and production overheads to produce each unit, but it is the only way to be certain that the outcome will always be worthy of the Burson badge.
